The changes in this latest version were made after consideration of member feedback during the Zoom meeting. Section 8.4 was changed to give the Council, when there is consensus, the ability to approve member nominations for Council outside the strict calendar requirement. Multiple comments contributed to the decision to make this change. Section 8.4 now reads, “Members are eligible for election to the Council if they are a member with voting rights in good standing and have been such a member for 24 months immediately preceding nomination. Council may make exception to this requirement with a consensus vote of Council.” Section 12.6 was changed also due to multiple comments from members to give FSPNA some flexibility regarding maintaining a branch certificate with FPS. Section 12.6 now reads, “FPSNA shall, to the best of its ability, maintain a branch certificate with the Fell Pony Society as long as the Fell Pony Society makes branch certificates available. Alterations to the bylaws required in order to maintain a branch certificate with The Fell Pony Society may be made by consensus decision of Council. These alterations must also be noticed to the membership per section 12.4 and put to a vote of the membership at the next Annual General Meeting.” Letter to the members on July 28, 2026 asking why are we proposing to remove zones?
